YOUNG MALTESE BLIND GIRL CATALAYA SINGS NATIONAL ANTHEM IN PACKED TA’ QALI

Ahead of yesterday’s playoff first leg between Malta and Luxembourg, young singer Catalaya Zahra Vella delivered a moving rendition of the Maltese national anthem at the Ta' Qali National Stadium.
Despite living with blindness, Catalaya took to the pitch with confidence, performing in front of a packed stadium gathered for the important international match.
Her powerful performance captured the attention of supporters and players alike, setting an emotional tone ahead of kick-off.
Later on Facebook, President Emeritus Marie Louise Coleiro Preca praised the young performer, highlighting Catalaya’s stellar performance in front of 9,400 fans before the international match between Malta and Luxembourg, adding that everyone at the Malta Trust Foundation is proud of her and expressing support for Malta.
Catalaya was warmly joined by members of the Maltese national team, who sang along as she delivered what many described as a stellar and inspiring performance.
