Top Clubs With Strong Maltese Fanbases Name New Managers

Three top European clubs with strong Maltese fanbases have named new managers ahead of the 2026/2027 season, with Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Chelsea appointing top level coaches.
Real Madrid have opted for Jose Mourinho as their next manager after a very disappointing two seasons for the Spanish side. Fabrizio Romano announced that all details are set to be finalized for the Portuguese manager to join Real Madrid on a two-year deal.
Manchester United have confirmed former Man United player Michael Carrick, who will manage the reds for the next two seasons, after taking the helm of the Manchester side till the end of the 2025/2026 season, replacing Ruben Amorim.
Chelsea have signed legendary football player and former Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso on a four-year deal, who will replace Liam Rosenior at the Bridge.
The Santiago Bernabeu, Old Trafford, and Stamford Bridge awaits these legendary clubs' new managers, who will certainly be eager to bring these clubs back to where they belong.
