The second race of the Triathlon Series 2026 held on the 3rd of May delivered a high-intensity morning of endurance racing at Salini, where athletes competed for national honours and strong performances across both middle-distance and sprint-distance events.

The event also served as the Malta Triathlon Federation National Middle-Distance Championships, attracting a strong field of elite and age-group athletes. The championship race featured a non-drafting format consisting of a 1.5km swim, 60km bike, and 15km run, while the sprint race delivered fast and dynamic racing over a shorter distance.

Set against the backdrop of Salini, the event reflected the continued growth of multisport racing in Malta, with strong participation from elite athletes, age-group competitors, and newcomers. The atmosphere was enhanced by the support of volunteers, spectators, and organisers, contributing to another successful event delivered by Agones SFC.

Attention now turns to the remaining events in the Triathlon Series 2026 calendar, where athletes will continue their pursuit of Triathlete of the Year points and overall series standings, alongside the upcoming National Standard and Super Sprint Championship titles still to be decided.
