Malta Placed in Tough Group for 2028 Futsal World Cup Qualifiers

Malta’s futsal ambitions take centre stage once again as the national team has been drawn into Group A for the 2026–28 UEFA European Qualifying Competition for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup. The group brings together Denmark, the host nation for the preliminary phase, alongside Andorra and Scotland, setting up a competitive path for Malta as it seeks progression to the next round.

The Preliminary Round is scheduled to take place between 6 and 15 April 2026, with all eyes now turning to the team’s preparations for this crucial stage. Representing the Malta FA at the draw in Nyon, Switzerland, were Mark Marlow, Director of the Malta Futsal National Team, Manuel Cini, Team Manager, and Mark Attard, Press Officer. Their presence underlined Malta’s commitment to strengthening its futsal programme and competing with confidence on the European stage.
