Jenny Axisa Eriksen Set to Make History for Malta at Milano Cortina 2026

Malta is preparing for a landmark moment at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games, with 19‑year‑old cross‑country skier Jenny Axisa Eriksen set to represent the nation in its fourth appearance at the Winter Olympics. Axisa Eriksen has already written her name into Maltese sporting history as the first cross‑country skier to qualify for the Games, securing her spot during the 2025 World Championships in Trondheim.
Born to a Norwegian father and a Maltese mother, she developed her passion for skiing from a young age and has steadily progressed through elite competitions, including the Norwegian Cup, Junior National Championships and major international events. Now competing in her first senior season, she has intensified her training in Lillehammer with Team Hedmark Sjusjøen under coach Henrik Pedersen, gaining valuable experience in high‑level tournaments across Norway, Sweden and Germany.
Axisa Eriksen will proudly carry the Maltese flag during the Opening Ceremony of the Predazzo Cluster on 6 February. Malta’s delegation will be led by Chef de Mission Maria Vella‑Galea, supported by Charlene Attard and coach Henrik Skjervold Pedersen.
