The club emphasised that the project forms part of its long‑term strategy to expand its sporting facilities, increase community engagement, and strengthen the club’s financial sustainability.

In its statement, the club acknowledged the public interest surrounding Manoel Island but stressed that the works underway relate solely to Nicholl Ground a clearly defined area of government‑leased land entrusted to Gżira United. The club noted that this initiative should be viewed independently from broader proposals or discussions concerning other parts of the island.
