Emmanuel Bugeja Claims Malta Freeport Trap Trophy After Strong Showing at Southern Shooting Club

Emmanuel Bugeja emerged victorious in the Malta Freeport Trap Trophy held at the Southern Shooting Club, delivering a composed and consistent performance to secure the top spot in a competitive field. Bugeja topped the overall standings with 22/25 in the final round, edging out Gianluca Chetcuti, who finished second with 20/25, while Christopher Vella placed third on 19/25.

The event featured six finalists, with Vella and Bugeja both advancing with impressive qualification scores of 47/50, followed closely by Chetcuti on 45/50. Jacob Attard registered 44/50, while Abiel Cassar and Gordon Caruana each hit 42/50 to complete the lineup.

Class honours were also awarded, with Vella, Bugeja and Chetcuti taking the top three positions in Class A. Cassar led Class B, followed by Caruana and Kevin Pace, while Class C was won by Frank Scorfna ahead of Joseph Mallia and John Marmara.

The Malta shooting community now looks ahead to the next Trap event, the Queen Garage Tyre Service Challenge Cup, scheduled for 22 March 2026 at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.
