On the eve of Malta’s UEFA Nations League play‑off, head coach Emilio De Leo and captain Matthew Guillaumier addressed the media with a composed and unified message: belief, consistency, and focus will guide Malta into tomorrow’s decisive encounter against Luxembourg.

Speaking during the press conference, De Leo insisted that despite the magnitude of the fixture, the squad feels no added pressure. He emphasised that Malta will approach the match exactly as they have approached every game over the past year, staying true to the identity they have built. The coach highlighted the team’s progress since November and urged players to view the occasion as an opportunity rather than a burden.

Confidence, maturity, and a renewed connection with supporters were central themes, with De Leo noting that Malta is once again giving fans a team they can believe in.

Guillaumier echoed these sentiments, reflecting on past experiences such as the must‑win match against the Faroe Islands. While acknowledging that some players are new to such high‑stakes situations, he stressed that the team will not deviate from its established approach.

With the squad in good condition aside from the suspended Joseph Mbong Malta enters the play‑off determined to seize the moment.
