Two More Residential Roads Completed In Gozo Infrastructure Programme

Works have been completed on the 11th and 12th roads forming part of a programme to deliver 100 new residential roads in Gozo over a three year period. The latest projects include Triq il-Wied in Rabat and Triq l-Emigranti in Nadur.

The Minister for Gozo and Planning, Clint Camilleri, confirmed that both roads are now finished, bringing the total number of completed roads under the scheme to 12.

He said the works form part of a wider commitment to strengthen infrastructure across the island while improving living conditions for residents.

According to the minister, the aim is to ensure that all roads are built using modern and sustainable standards. He added that the government remains committed to completing the full programme within the established timeframe.

At Triq il-Wied in Rabat, the project included the installation of new water mains, repairs to the drainage system and the provision of residential service connections carried out by the Water Services Corporation.

The Ministry also replaced a damaged stormwater line, adjusted road levels and completed resurfacing works.

Meanwhile, works at Triq l-Emigranti in Nadur involved extensive upgrades to underground infrastructure. These included new residential connections, a gravity sewer and a modern pumping station to replace the previous system.

Additional works by the Ministry included the construction of rubble walls, road levelling and the installation of concrete channels, followed by resurfacing over an area of about 1,000 square metres.
