Following the success of recent editions featuring international stars such as Zucchero, Gipsy Kings, Ronan Keating, Marco Masini and UB40, the Għaxaq Music Festival returns in 2026 with a major highlight that sets the tone for the entire programme.

The first headliner announced is the legendary Italian group Ricchi e Poveri, who will perform live in Malta on Tuesday 21st July 2026 at the Għaxaq Grounds.

Ricchi e Poveri are among Italy’s most iconic and best loved musical acts, with a career spanning more than five decades and over 22 million records sold worldwide.

Their ability to blend catchy melodies with emotional storytelling has earned them generations of fans across Europe and beyond.

In recent years, the group has enjoyed a renewed wave of global popularity, particularly with their hit Ma non tutta la vita, which reached major streaming milestones across Spotify, Amazon Music and YouTube, and went viral on TikTok with hundreds of thousands of user creations.

The Malta concert will focus strongly on their legacy of timeless hits. Audiences can expect classics such as Sarà perché ti amo, Mamma Maria, Che sarà, Voulez Vous Danser, Se m’innamoro, Come Vorrei, La prima cosa bella, and Made in Italy.

These songs continue to define Mediterranean pop culture and remain staples at celebrations, festivals and sporting events worldwide.
