Partit Momentum Gears Up For Election With Proposals

Partit Momentum is gearing up for the next general election as it presents a series of policy proposals.
The party is gradually outlining its positions on a range of national issues, with a focus on transparency, governance, economic fairness and quality of life.
Among the first measures presented are proposals centred on increasing transparency in public life.
These include the automatic publication of magisterial inquiries upon completion, as well as the creation of a fully searchable database covering government contracts, memoranda and direct orders.
Momentum has also proposed replacing the existing Freedom of Information framework with a new legal structure under an Open Malta Act, which would require information to be published proactively and introduce penalties for unjustified delays or refusals.
Quality of life measures also form part of the initial proposals, including stricter enforcement of construction bans on Sundays and public holidays, alongside limits on construction hours and a temporary moratorium on high-rise developments.
The party has also put forward a 15% flat tax rate for graduates during their first five years in employment, together with measures addressing pension related disparities.
Mark Camilleri Gambin, an election candidate for Momentum, said the proposals are intended to cover key national priorities and contribute to a more balanced and just society, while the party continues to develop and present further measures as part of its wider manifesto process.
