Malta will be voting tomorrow.

This means that a number of traffic and parking restrictions have been announced by the Commissioner of Police affecting several localities across Malta and Gozo on various dates between May and August 2026.

The measures include the classification of certain streets as tow zones, temporary road closures, and suspensions or diversions of vehicle access during specified times.

Localities affected include Żejtun, Fgura, Ħal Għaxaq, Valletta, Birkirkara, Ħamrun, Mosta, Marsaxlokk, Żurrieq, Qrendi, and multiple towns in Gozo, among others.

Restrictions vary from short time windows to multi-day closures, often linked to local events, works, or public activities.

In many cases, access to main roads, town squares, school areas, and residential streets will be restricted, with some measures also impacting public transport routes.

Certain areas will require full clearance of parked vehicles, and enforcement will include towing where necessary.

Motorists are advised to plan ahead, follow posted signage, and use alternative routes where available. Public transport users should expect possible diversions or adjustments in affected areas.
