According to new data issued by Eurostat, Malta registered the second lowest amount of women employed in science and technology.

Malta registered a rate of 46% of women in the field, following Corsica at 42.7%.

This places Malta below the EU average of 42.8 million, or 52.5%. In 2025, more than 81.6 million people in the EU aged 15 to 74 were employed in science and technology.

Latvia registered the highest amount of women employed in science and technology at 62.4%, followed by Great Plain and North (61.1%) and Estonia (60.5%).
