Local Shelter Reports "Sharp Increase" In Amount Of Dogs Who Need A Home

The MSPCA has taken to social media to report a “sharp increase” in the number of dogs being taken into the shelter.

“This year, we have seen a sharp increase in intakes for dogs needing somewhere safe to go,” the MSPCA shared., “and for many, shelters are the only places they have.”

Among the organisation’s most recent intakes is Rokku, who is currently waiting for a loving new home.

Unfortunately, the MSPCA said that Rokku “is one of many,” with numerous animals currently waiting at the shelter for their chance at a forever family.

Older dogs and those with more complex medical needs are often among the least likely to be adopted, meaning they can spend longer waiting for someone to give them a home.

So, if you have the space in your heart, and in your home, perhaps it’s time to consider giving one of these pups the forever home they deserve.
