Local Photographer Captures Stunning Shot Of The Sun Setting Behind Mellieħa's Red Tower

Local photographer Marika Caruana captured a stunning sunset over Mellieħa, perfectly framing one of the north’s most recognisable landmarks.

The striking shot was taken just as the August sun dipped behind St Agatha’s Tower, casting a warm glow across the historic structure and surrounding landscape.

Better known to locals as the Red Tower, St Agatha’s Tower is one of Malta’s most distinctive fortifications.

The large bastioned structure was built in 1647 during the rule of Grand Master Giovanni Paolo Lascaris and was strategically positioned on the Marfa Ridge, offering sweeping views across northern Malta and towards Gozo.
