Clocks Go Back One Hour This Sunday As Malta Switches To Winter Time

This Sunday, 25th October, Malta will officially switch from summer time to winter time, meaning we’ll all get an extra hour of sleep.
At 3am on Sunday morning, clocks will move backwards by one hour to 2am, marking the end of daylight saving time for 2026.
While most smartphones, computers and other digital devices will update automatically, traditional clocks and watches may need to be adjusted manually.
The change means mornings will gradually become brighter, but there’s a catch: the sun will also start setting earlier in the evening.
For those who enjoy heading out after work, this means shorter evenings and less daylight to enjoy.
The biannual clock change has been a topic of debate across the European Union for several years, with discussions about potentially scrapping the practice altogether.
Although the European Parliament voted in favour of ending seasonal clock changes back in 2019, the proposal has yet to be finalised, meaning Malta continues to change its clocks twice a year.
So, whether you’re planning a night out on Saturday or looking forward to a Sunday morning lie-in, don’t forget that the clocks are going back!
Are you happy about the extra hour of sleep, or would you rather keep longer evenings?
