Alex Borg Says Nationalist Party Ready To Win Election Whenever It Comes

Speaking during a political rally this weekend, Opposition leader Alex Borg said that the Nationalist Party is ready and capable of winning the next general election whenever it comes.

This comes amidst election announcement rumours, with the Labour Party having just commenced its 2026 Congress this past weekend.

Speaking in Mdina, Borg said that this is the ‘people’s moment’ to ‘move forward towards a stronger Malta.’

As part of his Qrib Tagħkom series of talks, Borg criticised the uncertainty being created by the Prime Minister regarding an early election, which he said is negatively impacting businesses, workers and families.

Alex Borg said that the election date cannot continue to be used as a political game to retain power, and questioned the real reason behind this uncertainty when the country is not facing any crisis that would justify an early election.
